Team? We are the domain responsible for seller and buyer user journeys in our business of enabling people to give a second life for their belongings. Our business entity is called Recommerce where our product teams deliver FINN Torget in Norway, Tori in Finland, DBA in Denmark and soon also Blocket in Sweden. The two teams (Buyer Experience Team - BET, Seller Experience Team - SET) in our area have diverse competencies needed for creating state-of-the art products for millions of users across web, iOS and Android. With our goal oriented and data driven approach our teams are truly empowered to autonomously drive product development how we see fit, and have embraced AI to enable our users to have a good experience using our services.

Role? Demand for our products is high, and we need to expand the teams with Two backend developers. As our new developer you will integrate with platform services, make sure our frontends have the backend they need, tune APIs for data models and dig into data that we have to help us establish better data products in our mesh-way.

Technology? Our backend services are primarily developed using Kotlin. The frontend services are written in React and TypeScript, using Podium for building micro frontends. We deploy our services to Google Cloud using Docker and Kubernetes and communicate asynchronously between our services using Kafka.

Our architecture grants our teams the freedom to choose technologies that best suit our needs. We embrace a wide array of technologies and programming languages.

We have already started implementing AI in our products, and there is so much more we want to explore here. Come learn together with us!

Location? Our hybrid work approach means we want you to join us in our vibrant and colourful office in Oslo 2-3 days per week to meet with the team. The team very much enjoys hanging out together at our awesome teamspaces in the office, and we hope you do too.

WHO ARE YOU?

You are a person who has a desire to make great products and you continuously want to improve your skill set and keep up with the latest technology. Teamwork is your thing; you love to contribute, help others and share knowledge and learnings.

You also;

  • Possess 5 years or more of professional experience working with web/backend development
  • Are passionate about the products you are working on and their users
  • Have a solid understanding of Kotlin or other JVM languages
  • Have hands-on experience with technologies like Kubernetes/Docker
  • Huge bonus if you have experience with Kafka integrations
  • Its very beneficial if you have experience working on web apps with a large user base

WHATS THE JOB LIKE?

As part of our local Oslo team, youll work with exciting projects and day-to-day tasks. We have launched our FINN solutions to Finland and Denmark, and will expand to Sweden this year. We experiment towards good and marketable experiences for sellers and buyers in our marketplace, with designs based on expansive insights. Including the use of AI which we deem useful to create a smooth user journey. Within the team, we adhere to radical focus principles and foster a highly engaged environment. We need someone who takes initiative and who is not afraid to try out new things. Working as a team is important to us, so we want someone who strives to support the team in reaching common goals, as well as being confident enough to work out bugs and solve problems on their own.
