Job Description:

You will join a small, distributed team developing key technologies to help better understand environments hidden several kilometers below the earth’s surface. We do this by blending high-performance computing, cloud technologies and advanced uncertainty analysis. These advances are vital to ensure a stable energy supply in the future and will play a key role in the energy transition to de-risk carbon capture and storage (CCS) and energy storage projects.

The team develops on a modern software stack with Go on the backend, Angular for frontend components and Kubernetes to run cloud deployments. Most team members are full stack but specialized on different parts of the system. As our new colleague, you will mainly work on the frontend components, but will with time span the entire system.

Our team is distributed throughout Europe this position is based at our new offices in Lysaker, Oslo with the possibility to work remotely a couple of days per week.

Essential responsibilities and duties:

• Spend most of your day writing code.
• Works with subject matter experts to understand how best to solve client problems.
• Use your expertise to help solve business critical problems.
• Review your colleagues work to ensure quality.
• Develop server-side services to be elastically scalable and secure by design.
• Write automated tests and be responsible for source code quality.
• Attend training session on all aspects of the development process (testing, security, DevOps, etc.).
• Continuously improve the team and product by sharing your knowledge and insights.

• You are either newly graduated or have a couple of years' relevant experience.

Qualifications and competencies:

Bachelors (or equivalent industrial experiences) / Masters / PhD degree in computer science/software development or a background in science/engineering with software experience.

Ideal candidate, but other skillsets are welcome:

• A couple of years frontend experience from a larger web application.
• Experience developing software in a DevOps setting.
• Ability or desire to be involved and deliver on all aspects of the software development cycle (design, development, automated testing, automated deployment and build, software reliability engineering and operation support)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, the working language is English.
• Experience with Cloud technology, containerization, Kubernetes, Google, Azure or similar.

Technologies:

• Preferred: Angular, Typescript
• Advantage: Playwriter, Go, Kubernetes, Docker

• Experience with SRE based operation and continuous integration and deployment.
