Overview

The Software Engineer position forms part of the Technology Product Development Team. The Software Engineer is responsible for designing systems according to the product team and developing new software product from the ground up according to our core values and needs. In addition, s/he will expand the existing software to meet the changing needs of systems and business.

Onyx CenterSource operates and develops its own services aimed at large international leading travel agencies and hotels. This position initially implies that you have experience with .Net development in C# and familiarity with SQL. The company uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a platform for scaling and optimizing its services.

Minimum required:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree is preferred.

Span of Control:

Reports to: Director of Technology

Oversight: This position has no direct reports

Roles/ Responsibilities

  • Participate with architecture to ensure high-quality software designs.
  • Follows the change control processes to ensure integrity of the production environment.
  • Identify, prioritize, size and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions, as well as prepare the service delivery teams for supporting the capabilities in a highly available, production environment.
  • Perform validation and verification testing, as well as capacity planning, scalability and performance testing.
  • Help to produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Document and maintain software functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems.
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback.
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards.
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.

Qualifications

Minimum required:

  • At least six (6) years of related work experience in a Software Development role.
  • Experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Experience with software engineering tools.
  • Depth knowledge of transactional processing systems, modern web browser-based applications, and APIs.
  • Experience with a scrum/agile development methodology.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and public cloud service offerings, and how to create scalable, fault tolerant solutions while balancing cost of services leveraged.
  • Experience developing applications running in both a public cloud and hybrid cloud environment.

  • Can work independently and in flexible teams.

Physical Demands/ Travel required

Work associated with this position is sedentary in nature and performed indoors at a desk either remotely or in an office setting.

Travel for this position is less than 10%.

This position is hybrid in office and remote.
