The position 
Graduate Software Developer

Technology and Operations Support (TOS) is responsible for development, implementation and operational support to Hydro’s smelters in Norway and abroad. TOS has an exciting agenda, working towards achieving zero emission aluminium production, through initiatives like carbon capture & storage solutions, groundbreaking new process technology and digital solutions. The TOS unit is a highly skilled organization in Hydro with around 180 employees connected to our technology hubs in Norway and Germany, representing a wide range of technical expertise.

 


Digital Production Support department in TOS focuses on cross functional teams and agile methodology to deliver value from digital transformation in the production area. Together with our long-proven MES solution, APICS and process control system HAL3000/4000, we are now focusing on developing and deploying digital tools within maintenance as well as analytical platforms in cloud and IIoT solutions in plants worldwide. The Digital Production Support department is currently located in Årdal and Oslo.

 

Areas of responsibility

We are looking for creative talents to join our cross functional development teams and to contribute in this exciting story!

 


As a Software Developer you will be a key contributor in DevOps teams improving our operational performance by developing and deploying our digital applications and platforms.

 


Our key focus areas:

  • Continuous development of our data and analytics platforms in Azure
  • Continuous development and implementation of the in-house developed APICS portfolio including cloud and mobile solutions
  • Development and implementation of digital tools for predictive maintenance

You have experience or passion for developing digital solutions, and you have a creative mindset with ability to innovate and deliver efficient and user-friendly solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in automation, IT, cybernetics with strong academic achievements
  • A maximum of two years of full-time work experience after graduation
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and proficiency in a Scandinavian language
  • Extracurricular activities and voluntary work will be considered advantageous
